MEMBERSHIP POLICY
 
 
IoEMC - members  are required to monitor and recognise the following key areas in accordance with our membership policy.
 
 
1. The health  safety and wellbeing of both themselves and their clients in all situations and at all times.

·       Their ability to ascertain and determine whether their experience is appropriate to the clients exacting needs and requirements. In such cases where it is not IoEMC members are required to refer clients to other professional services such as other experienced IoEMC members, Professional Counsellors, Qualified Psychologists, Medical Practitioners or other Specialist Service or Care Providers and Practitioners. (we do maintain a list of these if required)

2.    All IoEMC members are responsible for ensuring that clients are fully informed of the coaching contract formed between them and the Executive Coach which must  include: confidentiality, frequency of sessions, duration of each session, terms and conditions of business, limits and proportions of the coaching remit to also include  any  'off limit' areas within sessions, the time scales involved as well as detailing  the actual role of the Executive Coach,  prior to during or at the initial session.

3.     All claims made by the Executive Coach should be honest, reliable  accurate and consistent with maintaining the high standards and reputation of the Institute of Executive Master Coaches and its affiliated organisations and members.

4.     Not to recommend a course of action to any client that may result in a claim in any form of negligence on either the part of the Client, the clients employers or the clients subordinates under the governing laws of the  country of residency.

5.    IoEMC - members are required to be frank , open and willing to respond to their Client’s requests for information about the methodologies, techniques, tools and ways in which the coaching process will be conducted. This will be done both prior to and during any contract agreement or during the full term of the contract.

6.    IoEMC members will be sensitive in all areas of race, religion, gender, gender-identity, sexual orientation, disability and age. We aim to continuously promote equality and diversity in all situations.

7.    IoEMC members must respect the Client’s right to terminate a coaching assignment at any point during the coaching process.

8.    All Executive Coaches are required to maintain appropriate records of their work with Clients, ensuring that any such records are accurate and that reasonable security precautions are taken to protect against third party disclosure.

9.     Attention will be given to the Clients rights under current legislation, e.g. the data protection act.

10. IoEMC members are required to monitor the quality and professionalism of their work and to seek regular feedback from Clients and IoEMC members; Executive Council & VP's or other coaches operating at a similar level, as and when appropriate. (mentoring and buddy programmes are actively encouraged)

11. Executive Coaches are expected to receive regular and ongoing consultative support on their work from a qualified member of the IoEMC Executive Council.

12.  Continuing professional Development:

·      Full IoEMC accredited members will undertake a minimum of 60 hours of professional development in theory and practice during the course of each 12 month period

·      Associate Members of the IoEMC will be expected to undertake a minimum of 100 hours of professional development in theory and practice during the course of each 12 month period

13.  IoEMC members will ensure that they keep up to date and informed of any statutory or legal requirements that may arise which may affect their work in any way.

14. All IoEMC members are required to have current Professional Indemnity/Liability Insurance (min £50,000 cover for Associate & £100,000 cover for Full members)

15.  All IoEMC members will hold adequate Public Liability Insurance if working from their own premises and or working with clients on an off-site basis (min.£100,000 of cover)

16.  IoEMC members will consider the impact of any dual relationships or conflict of interests they may have with regards to their clients and/or any sponsoring organisations or people.

17. IoEMC members agree to uphold the principles inculcated in the Institute’s Constitution, Code of ethics and policies at all times.

18. IoEMC requires that all its members maintain a professional and high level quality of service to its clients and does not bring the good name of the Institute or its membership into disrepute.
